[BUG] extension keeps downloading same image everytime the wallpaper autochanges into previously downloaded artwork

I am not sure exactly how to word this issue.
Here's the problem i'm facing.
FYI, I've chosen recommend mode since it's the most stable mode in the extension.
So basically, once i choose recomend mode and it downloads a few artworks to display, forcibly changing wallpaper either through gesture or clicking the "next" button, causes the app to redownload the same image.
This results in multiple duplicates being created + no new images being downloaded since only the old images are being redownloaded everytime.
Something seems to be fundamentally broken at the moment.

Additional Info:

If I click the next button in rapid succession, the app literally downloads the same images dozens of times over and no new images are ever found.
Also, the extension regularly crashes when switching wallpapers quickly (without waiting for the fade transition to play out) though this seems to be a separate issue on it's own.
