When I first tried the app, I was let down by the recording quality. When I tested with other apps, even messaging ones, the audio quality seemed much better than with RecordYou. It's only then that I realised I could change this in the settings. Whetever the default settings are for recording, they are pretty bad even on a modern phone. So why not up the default at least somewhat? Most phones have enough storage nowadays to easily contain high quality audio recordings. Furthermore, some people won't bother to change the settings before deciding to move on to a different app.

I have also noticed that the default quality is terrible. And more specifically the sample rate. For example, the default pixel recorder uses 32kHz, while RecordYou only 16kHz by default.
