ISO-3166-2 for regions

Is it possible to integrate ISO-3166-2 codes for regions?

There are plenty of countries that support these codes and are really helpful when sending info to postal offices (required for countries like US, CA, AU, MX, etc.).
You can see an example here: https://www.geonames.org/CA/administrative-division-canada.html

Fields like geocode_name or geocode_id do not provide this code (only US is ok).
I can see that some of them are included in the alternate_names but they are unordered or sometimes missing, which is impossible to extract.

Maybe a code2 or code3 or iso_code whould be nice to be included also for regions, like countries has one.
