Picom with its experimental backends solved my only minor gripe with my i3 desktop (and couple of other window managers I briefly tested for this issue), which was choppy movement of floating windows, and which would only go away with TearFree disabled or (quite amusingly) while running glxgears.

So, thank you for doing this work. I 'll make sure to send a detailed report if I run into issues!
