# Following per window-type options are available: ::
#
#   fade, shadow:::
# Controls window-type-specific shadow and fade settings.
#
#   opacity:::
# Controls default opacity of the window type.
#
#   focus:::
# Controls whether the window of this type is to be always considered focused.
# (By default, all window types except "normal" and "dialog" has this on.)
#
#   full-shadow:::
# Controls whether shadow is drawn under the parts of the window that you
# normally won't be able to see. Useful when the window has parts of it
# transparent, and you want shadows in those areas.
#
#   redir-ignore:::
# Controls whether this type of windows should cause screen to become
# redirected again after been unredirected. If you have unredir-if-possible
# set, and doesn't want certain window to cause unnecessary screen redirection,
# you can set this to `true`.

Steps of reproduction

  1. Open the picom configuration file.
  2. Change any character.
  3. Save.

Expected behavior

Picom should reload the configuration file.

Current Behavior

Picom exits when the file is saved and generates the output:

X Error of failed request: GLXBadPixmap
  Major opcode of failed request: 152 (GLX)
  Minor opcode of failed request: 23 (X_GLXDestroyPixmap)
  Serial number of failed request: 3498
  Current serial number in output stream: 3512

Other details

I use symbolic links to manage my config files with Git. Maybe that is a problem.

related, i guess: #984

the error is still here, though now it has different style, but picom doesn't fail to reinitialize itself on configuration file change anymore so i'd close this.

@absolutelynothelix You are right, I can confirm that picom no longer exits on configuration file changes. 😃
