Description

This is a tracking issue for 2-region disaster recovery with asynchronous replication based on xCluster. More details here: Disaster recovery

Phase 1

The first phase will support:

  • Planned failover flow - in full.
  • Unplanned failover flow - partially. When failed cluster is back up, the user will have to wipe out the data and re-bootstrap it.

Issues

Phase 2

The second phase will complete the support for unplanned failover by addressing the clock skew concerns and providing an ability to restore the original source cluster to a consistent state.
