Shortcut to Add Referenced Notes as Children

Introduction

This script is designed to add all referenced notes as child notes of the current note in Trilium Notes. It adds a new functionality that can be triggered by a keyboard shortcut. When activated, the script scans the current note for references to other notes, then adds these referenced notes as child notes if they are not already present.

Usage Instructions

1. Create a Script Note:

   • Create a new note and change its type to JS Frontend.

2. Copy the Script:

   • Copy the following script into the newly created note:

3. Add Attributes:

   • In the Owned Attributes section of the note, add the following attributes:
     • #label:shortcut=promoted
     • #widget
     • #shortcut="alt+6"
       This will set the shortcut to Alt+6 and make the script accessible as a widget.

4. Refresh Trilium:

   • Press Ctrl+Shift+R to refresh Trilium Notes to apply the script.

5. Using the Script:

   • Navigate to any note containing references to other notes.
   • Press Alt+6 (or your chosen shortcut) to activate the script.
   • The script will add all referenced notes as child notes and display a message with the results.
