Feature request

I got zinit_downloads/polaris/bin in my $PATH, I have no idea how it got added there, and how to opt out of it.

This is also documented in the documentation

There is also $ZPFX, set by default to ~/.local/share/zinit/polaris – a directory where software with Makefile, etc., can be pointed to, by e.g. clone./configure --prefix=$ZPFX'.
