Thanks for the suggestion, I'll do it. |
BTW since I was not able to find required funds, after some days I'll be in prison and it could be my final goodbye for pieces of shit like you. |
For what it's worth, this issue was supposed to be a light hearted jab at a mild annoyance. I appreciate anyone who contributes to FOSS, but I don't think this is the way to make it sustainable. I have no idea about your personal circumstances, take care @zloirock. |
It was your proposal, so the FOSS community will say thank you for that. |
It's your code and your responsibility. If do actually implement this, I hope the FOSS community can learn something from it. (Oh, and make sure you use your your actual bitcoin address.) |
It's your code from your proposal, so it's your responsibility, please don't assign it to me, the FOSS community should know heroes like you ;-) |
I didn't sign a CLA yet though ;) |
I just realised that it might be better to contribute to FOSS on the whole: For example, why not request people donate to Apache: http://www.apache.org/foundation/contributing.html#Bitcoin

Since you make this a public issue, I can't help but be frank and ask: What on earth are you doing that, being a skilled developer, which are high in demand, can work remotely and are well paid, broadcasting your application to hundreds of thousands, with an 11k starred repository, you can't find any employment, to the point where you are about to go to prison after months of job search? Anyway, originally I just came here to see what the community had to say about your messages. Thanks @hitchcott you gave me a laugh, take it easy. |
@otto-dev why do you think that I can't find a job? For that time I had some good contracts, now I have some hundreds of options for full-time work, but at this moment because of my current situation, I don't think that I can accept them, waiting when I'll be able to do it. The message about the job was planned for adding just for some days, but still in your consoles mainly because it causes a butthurt (like this or #548) for some pieces of shit who think that I should not do it and it can be improved by the proposed here way -) |
Closed at least to the clarification of my current possibilities. |
To follow up on #708
To ensure that you are able to acquire donations and find a job more quickly, I would like to suggest making the post-install messages more visible.
As the messages are still there, you probably haven't found a job yet probably because nobody has noticed your messages. It makes sense to make them more eye catching.
For example, instead of:
You could use
There may be issues with this in terms of line length if you want to ensure it can be seen terminals I would suggest less than 100 chars per line.
That means that it would change the existing output:
It will look like:
