A dashboard widget with some statistical information would really help tie the room together:

Definitely thinks this would be cool.

Things that would be interesting/useful for site admins to know

  • of site searches in last X days (graph / interactive)

  • Most frequent / latest searches
  • Status of ElasticPress (currently working/disabled/etc?)

A few ideas on what the dashboard widget might look like:
elasticpress-widget

The top box shows when something is wrong and links to the docs. The second one shows when everything's working right.

Could build on some of the work in Jetpack's Stats module—it uses jQuery Flot for the simple charts. We could pipe some of the stats into 2 or 3 tabs as Jetpack stats does with daily / weekly / monthly info.

Hi Everyone,
Considering that this issue is pretty old, do we still see value in having a dashboard widget given that GUI indexing has been added in 1.9?

I think it would still be a nice value add to be able to show usage and searches.

So yea - I still give this a 👍

Hey @tlovett1,

can we get back to this discussion and implement it in the next 2.5 release?
