The existing link, https://cookiecutter.readthedocs.io/, takes you
to an old version of the cookiecutter documentation, where you are
told, "You are not reading the most recent version of this
documentation. 2.0.2 is the latest version available." This appears
to be a bug in cookiecutter's documentation itself; even their own
latest documentation page:

https://cookiecutter.readthedocs.io/en/2.0.2/README.html

links to https://cookiecutter.readthedocs.io/, which in turn takes
you back to that same old page for version 1.7.2.

if the following also works, then I think i would prefer:

https://cookiecutter.readthedocs.io/en/latest/

I agree there seems to be a bug somewhere. Maybe in the readthedocs.io framework/service?

Oh thanks! I agree--I was wondering if they had such an auto-link to the most recent version.

It might have something to do with this "issue" (which I admit made my eyes glaze over and I didn't have the energy to grok right now): readthedocs/readthedocs.org#8476

(but that's none of our concern really. it would only be help the cookiecutter team properly reconfigure their docs. seems like versioning is "hard" here for some reason. but if the URL with "latest" is working, then i'm still a bit baffled why the default url would not be equivalent! very perplexing)
