if the following also works, then I think i would prefer: I agree there seems to be a bug somewhere. Maybe in the readthedocs.io framework/service? |

The existing link, https://cookiecutter.readthedocs.io/, takes you to an old version of the cookiecutter documentation, where you are warned, "You are not reading the most recent version of this documentation." This appears to be a bug in readthedocs.io or cookiecutter's site itself; even their own latest documentation home page, https://cookiecutter.readthedocs.io/en/latest/README.html, links to https://cookiecutter.readthedocs.io/, which in turn takes you back to that same old page for version 1.7.2.

It might have something to do with this "issue" (which I admit made my eyes glaze over and I didn't have the energy to grok right now): readthedocs/readthedocs.org#8476 (but that's none of our concern really. it would only be help the cookiecutter team properly reconfigure their docs. seems like versioning is "hard" here for some reason. but if the URL with "latest" is working, then i'm still a bit baffled why the default url would not be equivalent! very perplexing) |
