Configuration
When you first open the plugin you will be presented with a list of items the last one of which says "<< Import iTunes Library >>" (or an equivalent depending on which language is supported). It's tempting to click on this but hold off for just a minute. Lets first make sure you understand all the configuration options.
Accessing the configuration panel: When you've opened up the plugin, bring up the XBMC context menu. There will be an option to configure the plugin.

Path to iTunes Music Library.xml
Before anything meaningful can happen, the plugin needs to know where your 'iTunes Music Library.xml' file is. By default the plugin will look for this file at "~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music Library.xml". Use this field to navigate to and confirm the location of your file before you try to import the itunes library.
Also see the limitations page for further information on what this plugin can an can not handle.
-
Auto update library
This is option is disabled by default. If you select to turn on this option, the plugin will compare the modification time of your "iTunes Music Library.xml" file with its own database and update the database automatically. This check is performed whenever you use the plugin. Do note that your iTunes library will change frequently if you automatically download podcasts, use GENIUS or regularly play music from itunes. -
Hide Import Library item in main menu
This option is disabled by default. Turning on this option will hide the "<< Import iTunes Library >>" entry from the main menu.
