ECHOFY is more than just an e-commerce website; it's a comprehensive platform that caters to both buyers and sellers. It provides a user-friendly interface for customers to browse products, add them to a shopping cart, and proceed to checkout. On the other hand, it offers sellers an intuitive dashboard to manage their products, track sales, and interact with customers.

The project is structured in a modular way, ensuring each component, context, and library serves a specific purpose and can be maintained independently. This modular structure also makes it easier for other developers to understand the project, contribute to it, and even use it as a starting point for their own e-commerce platforms.

Repository Structure

The repository is organized into several directories and files, each serving a specific purpose:

  • components: This directory contains various React components used in the project. Each component encapsulates a part of the user interface and can be reused throughout the application.

  • context: This directory is used for context-based state management. It allows different components to share states without having to pass props down the component tree.

  • lib: This directory contains various libraries used in the project. These libraries provide additional functionality and help keep the codebase DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself).

  • mernkart: This directory contains files related to the MERN stack implementation. It includes server-side logic, database models, and API endpoints.

  • pages: This directory contains the pages of the Next.js application. Each file corresponds to a route in the application.

  • public: This directory contains public assets such as images and fonts. These assets can be accessed directly by the client.

Getting Started

To get started with the project, you need to run the development server. This can be done using one of the following commands:

npm run dev

yarn dev

pnpm dev

After running the development server, you can open http://localhost:3000 with

your browser to see the result. You can start editing the page by modifying pages/index.js. The page auto-updates as you edit the file.

API routes can be accessed on http://localhost:3000/api/hello. This endpoint can be edited in pages/api/hello.js.

The pages/api directory is mapped to /api/*. Files in this directory are treated as API routes instead of React pages.

This project uses next/font to automatically optimize and load Inter, a custom Google Font.
