VRINDA STORE SALES ANALYSIS

Welcome to the Vrinda Store Sales Analysis project repository! This project aims to provide insights into the sales performance of Vrinda Store for the year 2022. Through data cleaning, processing, analyzing and visualization in Excel, we have extracted valuable insights to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning.

OBJECTIVE

Our objective is to analyze the annual sales data for 2022 and uncover key trends and patterns that can help improve sales strategies, optimize resource allocation, and enhance overall business performance.

METHODOLOGY

The dataset comprises 31,047 rows of sales data for Vrinda Store for the year 2022. Microsoft Excel has been employed for this project. Throughout the data cleaning phase, a concerted effort was made to ensure accuracy and consistency, including the checking & removal of duplicate entries, missing values, and standardization of data formats. Additionally, thorough data validation checks were performed to detect and rectify any anomalies present in the dataset. Some additional columns were added to simplify the analysis. Pivot tables were then employed to extract meaningful insights from the dataset, and utilizing pivot charts and slicers, a user-friendly dashboard was crafted to facilitate comprehensive data visualization and analysis.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

The analysis addresses the following key questions:

  • Highest Sales Month: Determining the month with the highest sales and orders.
  • Gender Analysis: Analyzing the purchasing behavior of men and women in 2022.
  • Order Status: Identifying different order statuses in 2022.
  • Top Sales States: Listing the top 5 states contributing to sales.
  • Age-Gender Relation: Examining the relationship between age and gender based on the number of orders.
  • Channel Contribution: Determining the channel contributing to maximum sales.
  • Highest Selling Category: Identifying the highest selling product category.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

  • March witnessed the highest sales, followed by February, while November and December recorded the lowest sales.
  • Women made more purchases, accounting for 64% of total orders, compared to 36% by men.
  • Nearly 92% of orders were delivered, indicating a high order fulfillment rate.
  • Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu were the top 5 states contributing to sales.
  • Women aged between 30-49 years placed the maximum number of orders.
  • Amazon emerged as the channel with the highest sales, followed by Myntra and Flipkart.
  • Sets were the highest selling category in 2022.

RECOMMENDATION

Based on the insights from Vrinda Store's 2022 sales data, here are some recommendations:

  • Targeted Marketing: Focus marketing efforts during peak sales months like March and February to maximize consumer spending.
