Normally a C3D file is obtained using optical based motion capture systems, AMMR models exist which makes it easy to run models with such data.

Sometimes data from alternative sources are not saved into the C3D file format and it can be convenient to convert position data into the C3D file format. To do this please have a look at this python/matlab toolbox https://github.com/pyomeca/ezc3d
