A lot of people (me included) run into problems when trying to develop on a project which involves shadow-cljs together with either deps.edn or Leiningen.

It seems there is some middleware missing and that the shadow server is not started.

If the shadow-cljs part of the project is configured to use lein or deps for dependencies, then the projects can be started with the shadow-cljs project type, but this is not obvious and sometimes not a sufficient workaround.
