Cf. #105 for the start of a conversation about the terminology for different kinds of dates. We might want to revisit this.

This should be:

  • Event date: day the thing of interest happened (e.g., end of the week in question, for NIS data)
  • Report date: for retrospective forecasting, assume this is the same as the event date
  • As-of date: this is less ambiguous than "forecast date", which sounds like the...
  • Forecast run date: when the forecast was actually run (which for retrospective forecasting is usually much later than the as-of date)
