Engineering Status

Execution

The team is working on first weekly sprint of 1.2.0 release cycle (Sprint 13.1). Release 1.2.0 marks the second production upgrade of the Casper protocol. The top priority is to keep Mainnet stable and roll out the upgrade to the network.

This release will focus on Performance & Sustainability.

The goal is to patch Mainnet with the second round of sustainability features:

  • Context state improvements
  • Network stability enhancements
  • Deploy processing stabilization
  • Event stream enhancements

Release

Tag v1.0.0 with Rust node was cut on 30 March 2021.

Mainnet - Casper Network

Casper Network started on March 31th. Current status for casper Block Height: 16966 with 51 Validators

Current Focus

Performance, hardening, and production engineering work.

Highway

  • Prioritize synchronization of vertices with lower sequence number.

Node - Rust

  • Test: purse balance correction.
  • Integration test with equivocation and upgrade.
  • Separate other deploys and transfers in the block validator.

Test and SRE

  • Support the network.
  • Improvements in monitoring.

Ecosystem

  • JS SDK: Implement CLValue json serialization.
  • Casper Signer UI/UX enhancements.
  • Casper course slides and recordings.

Economics Research

  • Entry auctions best-response formalization.
  • Options for preventing dust attacks.

Contract Runtime

  • Quantstamp audit remediation.
