Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

One of the biggest hassles early game for me is emptying out my Looting Rucksack when I'm fresh from looting a house or something. I can use the dump menu, which is tedious and requires careful management so I don't end up unsealing all my jarred food or beverage cans and pouring them on the ground. I can remove all my other worn containers and "unload" the item, which is fraught with annoyances like ending up with a dirty molle backpack in your hands that I've filled with loot from the rucksack. I can insert the items into another container, which is just as annoying as the dump menu. And finally, I can use the AIM menu and filter to only unfavorited items, which requires that I favorite literally all my equipment (which has caused problems for me in the past) and is a rather unwieldy and nonobvious method.

Describe the solution you'd like

An item examination menu command for "empty contents", which choices for any of the 9 surrounding tiles or another container on your person or in a nearby tile. A keyboard shortcut that gives you a list of containers nearby to start the "empty contents" process would also be excellent to have, but that can wait.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Have the dump menu not show/make available for dumping liquids and foods inside sealed containers by default.

Hopefully this might help in the mean time...

I'm playing an unarmed fighter, so encumbrance is a bit of a deal. When out looting and fighting I will wield my main pack of stuff as dropping it is almost a free action as is picking it up. Once it's full (along with anything I'm wearing) I will walk over to where I want to drop things off, wear the pack. Next up I setup my advanced inventory panes with one side being inventory and the other where I want to drop stuff. I'll then hit the transfer all hotkey (rebound to z). I've got stuff I don't want to drop marked as favorite so this empties my inventory of all the stuff I've picked up and I don't need to worry about accidentally dropping the contents of anything. Yeah wearing the pack might waste a few in game seconds but it's convenient relative to alternatives. Not wearing the pack means transfer all doesn't empty the pack.

Another thing I've done... since my inventory is full anyway I will stand where I want the stuff to land and then unload the pack I'm wielding. This transfers what it can to my inventory and drops the rest. I then do transfer all with advanced inventory.

Another useful tidbit, maybe, is category selection mode. Usually I'll drop (or drop to) and drop all container class items (as in finish the drop, not go elsewhere for more stuff to select for dropping). Then I'll go through some other 'safe' categories like clothing and tools, dropping those off. Once I've got the items in containers (like food, drink, drugs, etc...) + their contents visible on one page, category selection mode won't drop the contents. Basically as long as the container and it's contents are in the same category (and on the same page) category selection mode won't select/drop contents. I was using this pattern before I got back to my favorite advanced inventory management interface. Also it would seem that as long as the container is selected for dropping you can't select the contents, so I might not actually need to complete the drop of container class but it removes a lot of clutter so I do it.
