List from Facebook sources

This is an initial list of verified entities that are helping with the relief efforts in Puerto Rico after the earthquakes that have rocked the island since December 28, 2019. This list comes from Facebook sources and should be vetted.

  • Abrazo de Amor para el Sur
    • They apparently are only taking physical goods. flyer
  • Hispanics in Philanthropy
  • Video of Yauco mayor asking for help
    • Mayor's phone number 787-674-4645
  • Caribe Girl Scouts Council - Donate for a Tent
  • Open World Relief
    • They have been on the ground in Puerto Rico since September 21, 2017 helping hurricane victims. They are currently in the Bahamas helping reconstruction efforts for Hurricane Dorian Victims. Remarkably, they are fundraising and trying to procure military grade tents for earthquake victims in PR. They have also donated three pallets of camping tents to be sent to PR - of which I am coordinating with fellow volunteers to bring to PR for distribution with the help of members from all non profits on this list. This non profit is a registered 501c3. You can learn more about Openworld Relief via their Facebook page and donate through Paypal via their webpage at https://openworldrelief.org/
  • Protechos
    • PRoTechos is a 501(c)(3) and Puerto Rico 1101.01 nonprofit that rebuilds roofs affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria in under-served communities while providing vocational training in construction. I am the treasurer of the board for PRoTechos. You can help PRoTechos continue roof rebuilding missions. Our board of directors will be meeting next week to discuss several options to immediately help earthquake victims in southern Puerto Rico by collaborating with other non profits to perform damage assessment and to develop immediate short and long term solutions for housing. You can learn more at www.protechos.org and donate via the website.
  • Land Heart Project
    • Land and heart project fosters Fair Food Restoration in PR based on support, solidarity, permaculture, and cooperation. Currently there is a team of volunteers helping farmers in the mountains of PR. In addition, another team of volunteers (with the help of April Leaf who is one of the charity's creators) are making daily trips between the metro area and southern towns affected by the earthquakes delivering food, filters, cooking supplies, batteries and as many essentials as possible. This charity and its volunteers serving earthquake victims have extensive experience in disaster relief. This non profit filed its 501c3 and Puerto Rico 1101.01 on December 30, 2019. I am also a board member of Land Heart Project. You can learn more at https://www.landheartproject.org/, and donate via Paypal at landheartproject@gmail.com
  • Together Puerto Rico
    • They procure humanitarian aid, especially water filters and solar lights, and distribute it to areas of need. They have already made a trip to the south of the island to deliver aid, and are currently fundraising to get more water filters and solar lights. In a nutshell, it is a very similar mission to Water for Puerto Rico's work. This non profit is a registered 501c3.
