SASS - Stereo Ambient Sampling System

My aim was to build a DIY stereo microphone system in order to capture nature sounds (in natural habitats, and hopefully full of animal vocalizations) with highly accurate spatial localization.

During an extensive internet research, I found several mentions of the SASS system, formerly commercially produced by Crown International Inc. and in a different flavour by Wildtronics (creatively called SAAM).

The SASS is not available commercially any more, so there is not other way than to build it by yourself.

This WIKI aims to describe briefly the functioning of the SASS, give an overview on the scientific literature on this stereo mic system, show you several descriptions on how others built the mic and show you my DIY SASS.
