spiceinit error #4054
Comments
@beatricemueller As far as I know, ORex kernels are not publicly available for some image data. What file are you trying to use? |
Thank you for getting back to me.
I am trying to use the OCAMS files that were recently submitted to PDS (from later in Orbit R forward).
e..g. 20191112T235508S722_map_iofL2.fits (and corresponding xml)
I had no trouble using ocams2isis to get
20191112T235508S722_map_iofL2.cub
When I then try to use the spiceinit command, I get the quoted error.

@beatricemueller Thanks for the info. Currently, these kernels are not available within ISIS. Therefore, we are not able to run I wonder if @KrisBecker might have some additional insight about the current kernel availability for working with these data? |
Thanks so much. We are talking to Kris Becker but he is of course extremely busy, and we thought, we could go directly to the USGS.
This is very helpful though, as I was racking my brain trying to figure out why it is not working.

The ocams2isis application is performing the ingestion, but not working with the spice data. Once you attempt spiceinit ISIS sees that the kernels are not available.

@beatricemueller I am going to close this issue as I have gotten an enhancement request #4060 opened to ask that these kernels be made available and this is not an issue with Spiceinit logic; it is a missing kernel problem. Please reopen this issue in the future if you would like to continue to conversation over here. |
Thanks and noted.
