================== BirdHouse App v0.3 ================== License ======= Copyright 2011 (c) iEntry, Inc Licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (the "License"); you may not use this file except in compliance with the License. See the License for the specific language governing permissions and limitations under the License. Installation & Implementation ============================= 0. Build Folder --------------- If the build/iphone and build/android folders do not exist, then Titanium goes nuts. So, I included the folders, but git ignores them unless there are files in them, so I added an empty file in each folder. Go ahead and delete those. 1. Twitter Application Settings ------------------------------- First of all, make sure that you have registered an application with Twitter at http://dev.twitter.com and that the application's type is "Browser" (not "Client"). Also, you will need to set a callback url that has no redirects on that page--if the url redirects the OAuth sequence will not work. Also, if you would like tweeps who use your application to be able to update their status (i.e. send tweets) then be sure to set "Default access type" to "Read & Write" in the application settings. 2. Configure the BirdHouse Class -------------------------------- In the app.js file, change the code that looks like the following to include your keys and callback url according to your Twitter App's settings, var BH = new BirdHouse({ consumer_key: "yourappsconsumerkey", consumer_secret: "yourappsconsumersecretwhichislonger", callback_url: "http://yourappsEXACTcallbackurl.com" // only necessary for overridding }); By default, the app uses the birdhouse debug branch so that you can see the output. For production, be sure to use the master branch. For more information on the BirdHouse script and how it works, see the included README-BIRDHOUSE file. Debugging ========= Please report on GitHub any issues or suggestions! http://github.com/jpurcell/birdhouse/issues Also, check out the Wiki for FAQ and additional info. http://github.com/jpurcell/birdhouse/wiki To Do ===== 1. More testing with other API calls 2. Add as much customization as possible 3. Better documentation and code comments Known Issues ============ - On Android, on Twitter's authorization screen, if a popup shows asking if you want to remember this password, the authorization process may fail. If this is a confirmed issue, please post an issue ticket and we can resolve it. Credits ======= This code came from a lot of debugging, implementing some of my own ideas, and I must give credit to the people I got a lot of the code from: - Netflix for the oauth.js, - Paul Johnston and crew for sha1.js, - The oauth developers who made the examples here: http://oauth.googlecode.com/svn/code/javascript/ - David Riccitelli for his script that is awesome, but doesn't work on Android, http://code.google.com/p/oauth-adapter/ - Ketan Majmudar for modifying the oauth-adapter for Android, https://github.com/stereoket/oauth-adapter - Mike, my colleague at iEntry who initiated the BirdHouse project in PHP.
