There's not alot of guides on how to set this up and there are alot of diffrent files from over the years in trying to keep this game alive, so heres a guide on how to play.

With Modernizer you can host/join server from the game just like retail before gamespy was shutdown. You can see all the features/fixes here.

Installing and running NOLF2

• Download NOLF2-patched-1.3.zip from UnityHQ
• Download No One Lives Forever 2 Modernizer Multilingual 2_1.7 from UnityHQ
• Install (if not installed) Microsoft Visual C ++ 2019 Redistributable Package
• In the Compatibility Properties of NOLF2 1.3 Latest Install.exe, specify the launch as Administrator.
• In the Compatibility Properties of Modernizer2_2c_GUI.exe, specify the launch as Administrator and in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP3.
• Install NOLF2
• Install Modernizer
• After NOLF2 and Modernizer is installed, launch the game from the shortcut on the desktop and enable the Modemizer in the custom menu.
• Select the display resolution. In the display settings.
• Play and enjoy!
