If Crashing/Metadata/Scrapping/Features is not working, do these fixes.

Open the addon and head to the tools menu on the very bottom.

  • Clear Cache
  • Clear Local Torrent Cache
  • Rebuild Database
  • Wipe Addon Data (This is Optional)
  • Reinstall The Addon (This Fixes Most Issues)
  • Reinstall InputStream Adaptive (This Fixes Most Crashing Issues)
    Tools

If you are filtering specific Anime, do these fixes

Open the addon settings and go to the general category.

  • Set Anime Filter: Filters the Anime Categories if you prefer Sub, Dub, or Both
  • Set Content Format: Sets the Format of the Anime. (Example: Movies, TV Shows, Ova, Ona, Etc.)
  • Set Country Of Origin: Set the Country of what anime you would like to see. (Example: Japan, China, Taiwan, Etc.)
  • Theme: Changes the menu icons to either Coloured or White
  • Disabled Scraping Screen Fanart/Clearlogo: Gives you the ability to disable them when scrapping.

Open the addon settings and go to the Playback category.

  • Preferred Audio Playback: Lets you change the audio language to either English or Japanese.
  • Preferred Subtitle Language: Lets you change the Subtitle Language for the Playback.
  • Preferred Source Type: Lets you change the stream sources to either Sub, Dub, or Both. (Example: If i select Subs, I only get list of Sub)

  • Enable Automatic Subtitles for Dub Streams: Lets you decide if you would like Subtitles for Dub streams.

sub and dub

If You Do Not See Pemiumize, Real-Debrid, AllDebrid,Debrid-Link Sources, do these fixes.

Reconfigure your accounts again in addon settings.
Accounts

  • Make sure they are authorized by looking at the Username

If you are a Verizon user, scrapping sources will not work for you unless you enable Nyaa Alt in the Provider Settings.

image

Verizon blocks torrent sites like Nyaa.si and Mangadex
Luckily we have Gogo embeds and a Nyaa Alt Provider to satisfy your anime needs.

If you have a bad ISP that is blocking Nyaa then disable Nyaa and enable Nyaa Alt in the Provider Settings.

Nyaa Alt

If Your Playing Next Dialog isn't showing, do these fixes.

Make sure you have your Kodi video settings set the default setting like i have otherwise, playnext will not work all the time.
Media Settings

If Your Subtitles or Audio Playback are receiving errors, do these fixes.

Sometimes Language settings can affect Otaku sometimes so make sure to have these settings like how i have mine.
Language Settings

If Watchlist Is Not Updating, do these fixes.

Incase you guys are having issues with the Watchlist, authorize them again by logging in again.
Watchlist

  • If your still getting errors, change Watchlist to Update to something else.

If you have a bad ISP or region problem, enable this.

Enable any provider proxies that shows like below
Bad ISP or region problem

  • If this problem doesn't solve, you should change your DNS for sure.
  • This method for lazy people to change DNS or troubling solver in Android TV.

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me out with a frustrating issue I'm having on Solo Leveling. While I can freely select sources on any other anime, Solo Leveling is stuck on autoplay. No matter what I do, I can't choose a different source or episode manually.

Here's what I've tried:

Checked all settings: I've scoured every setting related to playback and episode selection, ensuring everything is set to allow manual source choosing.
I've tried reinstalling Otaku to see if it's a temporary glitch.
Cleared cache and cookies: In case it's a cached issue, I've cleared both cache and cookies.
Updated the platform: If it's a bug fixable with an update, I've made sure I'm on the latest version of the platform.
Unfortunately, none of these solutions have worked. Solo Leveling remains stubbornly stuck on autoplay.

Thanks in advance for your help!

P.S. If anyone else has encountered this issue and found a solution, please share it in the comments!

Hope this helps 😅

Hi guys, hoping I could get help with an issue,

I've recently installed Otaku on Kodi and have added the deal debrief account and checked the user name is showing, however every time I try to load some media, it'll say it's scraped multiple torrents and then proceed to only show embedded sources.

I have cleared cache, rebuild to dB uninstalled and reinstalled the addon, the whole shindig but I just can't seem to get the torrents to show. Any help would be appreciated

Real Debrid account is not expired is it and do you have the torrent providers selected in the providers category?

Ey mate @Goldenfreddy0703! Awesome work with the addon. I love it. But a few days ago it stopped working with spanish subs. I checked that AnimeLatinoHD fonts works, so I don't know what happened inside the addon. Thank you!

@Goldenfreddy0703

Hey so you may wanna use Aniwatch and have your subtitles preferences to Spanish so that way, Aniwatch knows what your looking for. Hope that helps.

skaarj3 commented Mar 3, 2024

Thanks for the answer @Goldenfreddy0703! I'm not sure that's the solution, because if I try to watch any superpopular anime (One Piece, FullMetal...), it doesn't load spanish subtitles anyway, through Aniwatch or any other font. I think anything changed from the last update of the addon and it broke this.
I tried it through pc and a fire tv. Same problem.

Hey @skaarj3 so apparently Aniwatch went down recently or changed domain, we provided a fix for that in our latest release so make sure to download our latest release of Otaku 0.5.85 and try Aniwatch again and it should hopefully work for you.

Thank you

I just redownloaded Otaku and Kodi then followed set up and troubleshoot guide and it's still not working.

I would click on an episode it would start loading links then kick me out.

When I occasionally get through it shows the anime name on the right and a blank screen on the left. I assume where links would be.

I've been trying to fix Otaku since last night, even tried to select source, same thing happened.

I just want to watch Jujustu Kaisen : (

Ok thats a bit weird even when you said you redownloaded Otaku. Would you mind sending me a log using the Kodi log uploader addon, if you could do that, that would be great.

Thanks

I forgot to mention I'm on fire stick. I'm not sure if I can do that.

Omg, I figured it out. Jujustu Kaisen season 1 has 4 episodes from season 2 that are dead links.

Sorry, for the bother.

Having an issue where the episode its streaming is not even the right show. This is happening on Naruto for a lot of the episodes in the teens. Not sure how to resolve.

@Goldenfreddy0703

It mainly could be due to torrents. Sometimes long animes have trouble especially with torrents so you may wanna try embeds such as aniwave or h!anime instead.

I keep having an issue where playback of an episode consistently pops up with a blue circle, takes about a minute to fill up from 1-100, plays for 10ish seconds, and then does it again. I have very fast internet and no issues like this outside of Otaku. Any idea of what might be going on?

Hey there, my guess is it could be the embed your using, in Otaku settings we have an embed category, you may need to disable a few, maybe that could be slowing it down. In the providers category, the only two providers I like to enable are H!anime and Aniwave.

Thank you, those are the only providers I have enabled but I did have all of the embeds enabled so I’ll have to toggle a bunch off. Are there particular ones that are the best or just ones that are usually bad? As I recall I think I’ve had the most success in the past (on sites) with Vidplay and MyCloud. Maybe Mp4upload, too.

Hey sorry I did not reply sooner, VidsStream is one of them and I think Vidplay but those of two embeds I had trouble in the past with.

@Goldenfreddy0703 is it possible to change sources midway like cloudstream does? And can you provide more sources?

@Goldenfreddy0703 is it possible to change sources midway like cloudstream does? And can you provide more sources?

Hey so you can change sources midway depending on your skin, most skins contain an Add-on Settings category in the view options or context menu so that way, you can change sources midway, you can also disable sources and specific embeds in-case your having trouble. Hope this helps.

I'm using Acrtic Fuse skin by Jurial Munkey, do you think that support this? And when you say:

Do you mean to press tab and then go to the episode then re-scrape again?

I was asking more of like this: Multiple sources in video stream in video setttings.
image

Your method is a good workaround but don't you think it's a bit counter productive?

Also, you mentioned:

you can also disable sources and specific embeds in-case your having trouble. Hope this helps.

What's the rule of thumb for doing that? Can you add a built-in tool to check what sites are accessible and enable/disable them by itself?

Also, I have an issue where I don't see any content from nyaa, but this source is enabled along with ATosho.

Thank you for replying so quickly.

Adding a build-in tool to check what sites are accessible might be a great idea to add in the future. Will have to look into that.

I'm using Acrtic Fuse skin by Jurial Munkey, do you think that support this? And when you say:

Arctic Fuse utilizes the Context Menu so if button hold on an episode or menu item, you should see a context menu and you should see a gear icon. Hopefully that should help you change sources midway.

Arctic Fuse utilizes the Context Menu so if button hold on an episode or menu item, you should see a context menu and you should see a gear icon. Hopefully that should help you change sources midway.

That would, but unfortunately, when I play videos from TMDB helper widgets, such as 'Up Next' from my Trakt list, it re-scrapes all sources from the beginning every time I open the context menu.

💡Is it possible for Otaku to cache the already scanned sources for a particular episode during the current session?
So, if we call Otaku from another addon, we'd get the sources by scanning for the sources again. What do you think?

@Goldenfreddy0703
Owner Author

Sadly I'm not too sure, will have to think about that but if it helps when it rescraps sources that you already selected such as embeds or Batch torrents, it should scrape the same source so that way, it's not in a random order.

Hey folks. Long time Otaku user here. I use it currently on my Fire TV, Xbox Series X, Fire Cube, and my Windows PC. On my Windows PC running the latest version of Kodi, no episodes show up. I tried watching Death Note from my MAL list and then I tried to watch a bunch of random shows. When I click the title, no episodes show up. I reset the addon. I did everything I could think of and nothing. Any help is appreciated. I am at work hella frustrated!

I have been using this awesome addon and it is pretty great so tons of Thanks to @Goldenfreddy0703!

I want to share an issue I was experiencing where I would get a weird mismatch for the "Fate/stay night Heaven's Feel III. Spring Song" movie. The first 2 movies ran and worked as expected. However, the 3rd movie would scrape and look like it was downloading the correct movie (2:02 mins), but then would play some 24 minute older style animation that has nothing to do with the Heaven's Feel series, but was some sort of "Fate/stay" series.

I then tried the following steps:

  • Clear Cache
  • Clear Local Torrent Cache
  • Rebuild Database
  • Wipe Addon Data (This is Optional)

but it still persisted. I kept looking around and tried going to the movie details page, but didn't see anything there that was helpful.

Finally I right clicked on the "Fate/stay night Heaven's Feel III. Spring Song" title and there was on option called "Rescrape". I chose that and it went through the scraping process and I was presented with various movie options and I was able to choose a correct video file that was indeed the Spring Song movie.

I am curious though, is there a setting that will allow me to choose the movie file and resolution every time? What was causing it to automatically choose this incorrect video file every time until I did the rescrape manually?
