For the Pages we will use Elementor Wordpress Page builder

Here are the options

  • Just images/icons with title text on them that link to the respective applications. hyracbox wp template 1

  • The images/icons can also open a word-press page with more details on the application before launching the main application.

  • Have images/icons with the title & description beneath them that when clicked open directly to the respective application. hyracbox wp template 2

Factors to consider when making the decision There is going to be only a limited number of applications that will go in one Hyrac Box due to the storage space for the raspberry pis So we can have a landing page for the raspberry pis/ smaller server versions. Thats the one we wanna work on right now.

Also in due time we should have a landing page for the big server with many applications.

We want operations of the box to be easy and flawless.

Most people might be accessing the device from their mobile phones.So we should not overwhelm them. The landing page should be skimmable. i.e for mobile we can scroll downwards then for more info e.g pics scroll sideways on that particular item.

A user clicking an icon of a particular image then opening more details on another page which should also have some links to some snippets before opening the main application might be a good thing. Its a 3 step simple process i think.

Our end users are mostly people who don't know what these amazing resources are and how they can change their lives so a simple explanation of Nextcloud as "It puts your data at your fingertips, under your control, store your documents, calender, contacts and photos on your local server" might not cut it. We might need more visual elements including video which we cant all put on the landing page.

We should give a teaser then on the description page put more info.

On the top and bottom we could give an icon saying "Visit the website" so that for those who already know what it is they can just click right away and after reading the description they can also easily navigate to the respective website

Or better still we could have a small dynamic navigation bar on the top and bottom leading someone to the application or back to the landing page.

The description pages will hopefully help us re-arrange some of the websites better for visual purposes as time goes by. And who knows, they can recreate and present some of the websites in a better way as we progress.

Also having some awesome description and short videos is a better way to increase our publicity... and we could use this for social media marketing e.t.c

So i need help of Helena and steve to get nice images and descriptions that will go into our wordpress installation.

Steve can do his thing with publisher with explainer arrows e.t.c very well.
