When pasting text with html tags in the normal editor, not in "source code" mode, this text is interpreted and should not be interpreted. Try pasting the following text and you will notice that it is interpreted before pasting:

<div>, <p>, <h2>, <ul>, <ol>, <li>, <table>, <tr>, <td>, <dl>, <dd>, <dt>
