Releases: Larkenx/Rotten-Soup
Autoexplore, zoom, & goal-driven AI
Playable at https://rottensoup.herokuapp.com
User Experience
This release includes a few user experience improvements. You can autoexplore with the tab
key. You can also zoom in 1.5x
in the settings dialogue!
Goal Driven AI
I've also added goal-driven AI framework using an eventing framework. What this means is I can begin to create more advanced enemies and NPC's that are reactive to game events that happen in the environment.
Loot Goblin
As a proof of concept, I've created a loot goblin that explores dungeons looking for chests and gold pieces. It'll steal any and all loot it can find from treasure chests. So if you see a trail of gold and empty chests, there's a good chance a loot goblin is in the dungeon!
You can also now interact with entities (doors, npc's, chests, ladders) with space
or e
, then pressing the direction you want to interact with.
Prefab Dungeon Rooms
Playable at https://rottensoup.herokuapp.com
This release introduces some bug fixes for the minimal hud introduced before. It also brings PIXI.js upgrades, TILED map editor updates, and most importantly - dungeon prefabs!
The dungeons will be much more immersive and exciting with over 30 hand-crafted new rooms that may appear throughout the dungeon.
Overhauled Minimalist HUD
This release brings a brand new minimal HUD to Rotten Soup. It comes with two new interfaces, the inventory / equipment screen and the spellbook. These can be opened with i
or m
, Z
, s
respectively. I'm hoping this new inventory will give folks the ability to play the game completely free of the use of the mouse, but also give the maintain a great user experience with mouse input!
NPC Dialogues & Drunken Dwarf Quest
You can now talk with the drunken dwarf in the Mulberry Town tavern. He'll give you a quest that comes with a reward!
