Closing: Winter

1. Lock generator hut door.
2. Verify adjacent door to garbage storage is closed and secured.
3. Refill rodent bait dishes. Fresh supply is on shelves adjacent to new bathroom/shower.
4. Make sure garbage cans are empty. Instructions are on the kitchen wall.
5. In the Pantry
   • turn off gas valve in pantry behind the front door
   • on both gas water heaters, turn the red dials to "off"
   • Turn off water heater breaker in panel (labeled #7)
   • Turn off the shower water heater fuse by turning it over
   • Lock the exterior pantry door (2 wooden bars and 1 steel bar)
6. Basement
   • Turn off old shower HWT at adjacent breakers in basement
   • Turn off new shower HWT with switch on the far wall in women's lavatory
   • Turn off and open drain of the HWT under the sink and open (3) valves to drain. Instructions are on the wall.
   • Open the P-trap drain under the newspaper supply in the drying room
   • Open the P-trap valves under the sink
   • Turn off water valve under the floor in men's john (per instructions on the trap door)
   • Open the Y-trap drain valve on the John wall (opposite the sink near the floor)
   • Open hut drain valve and bypass valve under the trap door in the john
   • Open both shower faucets, both shower drain valves, and shower HWT drain valves (women's valves 4x)
   • Flush the toilets
     • after water is turned off and most of lodge has drained.
     • Hold open all flush tank valves to drain excess water.
     • Place 1/4 cup of rock salt in each toilet bowl, tank, and urinal.
     • Rock salt is on the floor next to the tunnel entrance.
   • Lock exterior tunnel door, first aid room door, and wood room door.
   • Turn off the stairwell heater. Switch located in basement at ceiling near door post.
7. Dorms
   • Turn off HWT in hall between mens and women's dorms. The light bulb indicates status.
   • Partly open all faucets in both dorms. Remove sink strainers to prevent overflow when opening.
   • Lock all 4 dorm exterior doors
   • Secure all window panels
   • In ladies dorm, turn off thermostat and fan
8. Kitchen
   • Under sink next to oven, open HWT drain valve (near #4, and corresponding valve at the same level)
   • Above the prewash sink, lock open the hose valves
   • open all other faucets
9. Misc.
   • close the (2) drinking fountain valves
   • Turn off switches at the far end of the pantry
   • Turn off the Lodge radio
   • Turn off the main power by pulling Main #1 handle down (Labeled "Main Disconnect").
   • Lock the front door
