SSL

The site is set up with SSL certificates so that it can be served via HTTPS. This is recommended practice by Google, and helps with things like search engine ranking, but also the speed with which the site can be served. There are two certificates.

The first is on the Wordpress server. This establishes an SSL certificate for both wehorr.org and web.wehorr.org. The certificate is provided for free by https://www.letsencrypt.com and has a cron job set to automatically renew it every 90 days.

The second establishes an edge certificate for the CloudFront distribution on www.wehorr.org. This is managed through AWS's certificate management system. It is free an auto renews and ensures that it works seamlessly with CloudFront.
