Tip 467: To create a Dyson sphere, the choice of materials depends on its distance from the central star and whether it needs to rotate. This sphere could be equipped with solar cells on the inside and lasers on the outside for various purposes.

However, a Dyson swarm consisting of AI-controlled solar power stations is a more feasible solution. These stations can be built by AI-controlled space factories in the Asteroid Belt, using materials gathered by autonomous robot miners. The power stations are directed to appropriate orbits and transmit power via microwaves or lasers to habitats, factories, colonies, and other entities. This approach eliminates the need for a massive sphere and allows for flexibility in power distribution.

As the Sun expands into a Red Giant, humanity may relocate to moons of Jupiter or Saturn and other distant habitats to survive. The focus shifts from constructing a sphere to developing an efficient and adaptable network of AI-controlled solar power stations.

If those replaced all electric power sources, they would generate about 2.5 billion liters/yr of helium. That is 1.8% of current annual industrial helium supply from natural gas wells, which itself is a fraction of the total that escapes directly to the atmosphere before being used.

Any reasonable fraction of global energy from fusion plants would add well under 1% to current helium venting to the atmosphere.

It's white, which puts the temperature at about 6500 K according to this table. From a video I found, it looks like the width of the beam is about 5.2 times Marisa's height. Since she's not standing, that's probably lower than her full height. Let's call it 1.5 meters. That makes the beam 7.8 meters across. It's at least ten times her height, so 15 meters long. That makes the volume 15m*pi*(3.9m)^2 = 717 m^(3). At one atmosphere of pressure and 6500 K, the thermal energy of that volume of diatomic gas works out to 181.5 MJ. Let's just say 180 MJ. It looked like about two seconds for it to reach full brightness, so 90 MW.

I am overestimating it because the beam isn't a full cylinder and is narrower at the start, and because I'm not taking into account the thermal energy of the air at room temperature. But I'm also underestimating it because I'm not taking into account the energy to expand that air, and most importantly because the beam is probably quite a bit longer than the screen. It's probably more like 900 MW. Which incidentally, is the power output of a CANDU nuclear reactor.

Now, though particle accelerators are cool and exciting, and have a lot to offer science, an explosion is 1) unlikely, 2) not liable to be anything larger than a grenade going off, and 3) not going to give you any type of enhanced ability (unless it ‘s the enhanced ability to grow a myriad of unless, dead-weight cells).

You have to understand that these particles being slammed together as fast as we can make them go are very, very small. This isn’t a microscopic scale (x10^-6) or even a nanoscopic (10^-9) one. This is closer to a femtoscopic (10^-15) scale in terms of size. The energy being produced can be great at times, but there is nothing inherently dangerous about throwing particles together in a lined room. I know movies always want stuff to explode, but the reality is that most things don’t. Combustion simply isn’t that viable when it comes to a particle accelerator—a more dangerous thing would be lack of proper shielding when dealing with emitted radiation (such as gamma radiation, which can really fuck you up).

Let me preface this with the fact that I have had many tests done and I have no personality disorders.

I really really want to squeeze Koishi's third eye. I look at it and I think "that looks freaking squeezable dude" and I want to reach into my screen and grip it with my hands and squeeze it as hard as I can but I just can't do it. Koishi isn't real so I can't squeeze her eyeball. It makes me sad to think about that actually. Recently It was my sisters birthday and among the guests was my little cousin……
So, I was minding my own business, reveling in the majesty of Gensokyo(playing Touhou 10, the objectively best game in the series!)when my 14-year-old cousin casually strolled into my room and had the audacity to refer to Touhou as an anime! The nerve! I asked him what could possibly have given him such a obviously incorrectly false opinion, he showed me a clip from memories of Phantasm, and worse of all it was the episode 18 hot spring scene! Such lewd obscenity fit only for degenerates who would dare harbor impure thoughts about the innocent Touhous!

Even worse when I tried to correct him and told him it was made by fans, he denied it! And claimed the Touhou games where made by fans, and then he said this! 

“Look man those sprites look ugly as fuck! They look like they where drawn by a toddler with drown syndrome! No way that’s from an official game!”


It was that, that sentence, that he dared utter from this impure lips is what
broke the camels back….what made my blood my blood boil! He dared insult the Glorious sprites drawn by the hand of Zun-Sama!

Naturally, I couldn't let such sacrilege stand, and I may have...introduced him to the power of my Danmaku spell cards(I shot his left eye out with a BB gun). And when he was down on the floor screaming in pain I used my special spell card (Kick to the skull) repeatedly till he lost consciousness, now, my family is upset with me, and I'm wondering if I might have overreacted. So, AITA?
