Video params are set but not active/used

I have a setup with an RPi 5 and an RPiCam NOIR V2.
It is also recognized, and I can see a video, but I cannot set various video params, or according to the log they are set, but nothing changes in the video.

I actually want to set the automatic gain and brightness:

video_params "Gain, Automatic"=1,ID09963795=50, brightness=30

and i can see that is set in the in log:

But nothing changed in the video stream.
What I'm doing wrong?

I believe further in the log it will also indicated that there are no controls for the device. Essentially, this is not supported by Motion for the Pi cameras. Only Motionplus allows for adjusting the Pi camera controls via libcam. (For background, you can read the "Poll" question in this discussion section)
