User defined diagnostics using the aux3d and naux3d arrays are tied to fhzero for emptying accumulations or performing averages. If output is sub hourly, is one restricted to hourly accumulations/averages since fhzero has units of hours. Should/can the aux3d arrays be tied in with avg_max_length, which has units in seconds? Additionally, I like to set my precip buckets to 3 hourly intervals because I use the 3 hourly CCPA precip observations when doing verification, yet 3 hourly accumulations/averages are too large.
