Finnish library bibliographic description rules and ecosystem

The BFFI Linked Library Data model is created for the needs of Finnish bibliographic description. This model is based on the BIBFRAME data model published by the Library of Congress. The model has been expanded based on the classes and properties from the RDA Registry (Official RDA) as well as other additions in accordance with the Finnish bibliographic description guidelines while still maintaining interoperability with the original BIBFRAME.

The Finnish union catalogue Melinda will implement the Official RDA in 2025. The BFFI model includes several dozen of RDA elements for WEMI entities which will be used in the Finnish content description.
