Why the sample video doesn't work?

After the app has been installed the sample video doesn't work and the QuickLook previews show only still images, what could be the reason for this?
I'm on Mac OS Sonoma 14.5

I think it's due to the caches, Quicklook's cache or thumbnails' cache:

from terminal:
qlmanage -r to force reloading Generators list.
qlmanage -r cache to reset thumbnail disk cache.

Do you happen to still have somewhere another plug-in? If I'm not mistaken QLVideo shows webm as still pictures?

What happens if you launch the app once, then close it, then launch it again?

When you launch the app, you do not see this this?

I have the same issue (14.7). The app doesn't show a preview video, only this still image

Quicklook Video Thumbnails was installed, but has been disabled and I have since restarted the system. Not quite sure how to debug this.

what happens when you right-click (or ctrl+click) the still image?
when you double-click?

and in Finder, with any .webm?
and when pressing "space"?
