Releases: OneZoom/OZtree
paradoxical_frog
Latest release of the tree viewer, with a streamlined UI, tour functionality, ability to pinpoint and mark areas on the tree more easily, and files to allow easy transition to the OpenTree version 14.9. This also contains many bugfixes for existing functionality, an upgrade to Python 3.10, scripts for server installation, and more testing of underlying code.
musical_furry_lobster
Includes all the features of version 3.5 but with several important bug fixes, and some major improvements behind the scenes to support renewing sponsorships. It is now possible to view occurrence maps (i.e. global distributions) of species and higher taxa, courtesy of GBIF: see the "occurrence" tab then you click on any node or leaf. If you have a set of your own images, it is now possible to easily modify your own docker image to show only those photos, and thus adorn the tree with your own bespoke pictures. Finally, the tree itself had been revised to take account of new changes in the phylogeny of Archaea, and now also includes the dodo and Rodrigues solitaire.
Sadly we cannot find any creative-commons images of the musical furry lobster.
chocolate_chip_starfish
Includes all the features of version 3.4.1 but adds several improvements i) improved colour scheme for showing extinction risk of species ii) added colour scheme for showing the popularity index of species as a continuous colour gradient iii) main colour schemes now show randomly resolved polytomies in a different way on the tree for improved scientific accuracy and to avoid misunderstandings about the level of accuracy in the current tree. iv) colour blind friendly mode available for all colour schemes v) improved tabs for each species linking to other resources with better explanation around the IUCN resources and added links to GBIF vi) substantial improvements to the content and interpretation pages throughout the site vii) new resources explaining how to use the tree of life explorer viii) links to docker images for easier deployment by third parties ix) a range of minor bug fixes.
