MANI ansible scripts

This repo contains the scripts that allow you to prepare your Jetson TX2 board for the MANI project.

Services included

  • Basic setup: configure shells and vnc
  • Configure apt sources and install ros
  • Install catkin and create a new workspace

Setup

Currently only L4T 32.1 (based on Ubuntu 18.04) is tested and supported.

  • Flash L4T on your TX2 board, restart it and take not of the IP address
  • Install ansible
  • Copy inventory.example to inventory and change the IP address
  • If you use the pico flexx camera: copy the 10-royale-ubuntu.rules from the SDK to roles/pico/files/. Otherwise comment the pico role out in provision.yml.
  • Run ansible-playbook -i inventory provision.yml
  • Wait patiently

We plan to build our own filesystem images to make this process simpler. Work for this has started on the provision-new-rootfs branch.

Connect to VNC

The vnc server is listening on port 5900 and the password is "ubuntu".

Working on your projects

A catkin workspace is created at /home/ubuntu/catkin_ws. The setup script is sourced by default. If you want to automatically push your code every time there is a change you can use the scripts/sync.sh script:

$ ./sync.sh src ubuntu@10.0.0.1:catkin_ws

This works best if you add your SSH key to the ubuntu user first.
