WhatsApp Web - Background Changer

You can download the Extension from the Google Web Store and on the Firefox Add-Ons. The extension is no longer available on the stores for copyright reasons. You can still download it and use it from this repository.

Source code of WhatsApp Web - Background Changer, available for Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge ( Chromium version ) and Firefox, that lets you change the background image of the chats from the web versione of WhatsApp.

How it works

WhatsApp Web - Background Changer lets you change the current chat background to a custom one. You simply need to add an URL to the background image you want and it's done!

How to use

If you don't want to use the version on the store, you can install the extension from this repository. Follow these simple steps :

• Go on the extensions page on Chrome
• Activate developer mode
• Press the "Load Unpacked" button.
• Go on the main directory of the extension folder, in this case the one showing the manifest.json file
• Done, you can now use the extension.

Privacy

The extension doesn't save any data from the user, Chrome or WhatsApp Web. It also only runs when there is a tab with WhatsApp Web active.
