Changelog:
1.3: Fully removed the camera constraints after another report of softlocking (#68). See 1.2 for the side effects of this.
1.2.1: Improved the current resolution detection by incorporating one of the code ideas shared by @p1xel8ted.
1.2: Completely removed the level edge bounds at 32:9 and wider, as the native implementation can result in softlocking. The removal comes with the side effects of exposing a lot more and not necessarily aligning with the original camera framing of the game.
1.1.1: Insignificant tweaks and potential optimizations for stability and speed.
1.1: Removed the camera snapping when moving. This comes at the cost of quick snapping when entering a new location.

The solution aims to correct all field of view reduction issues and removes the black bars from dialogue.

Detailed features - Corrected the weapon model, including when aiming.
- Corrected the FOV when aiming.
- Vertical black bars removed from the affected dialogue scenes.
- Developers' main view correction code replaced for scaling consistency. This addresses the occasional cases of FOV reduction, like when using an in-game terminal. It also eliminates the need to set your resolution and touch the FOV slider to achieve vertical parity. Note that the max FOV text will be capped at 100.

Instructions:

  1. Download the mod archive below.
  2. Unpack the files to Game\Binaries\Win64 inside the game folder.
  3. Run the game and move the FOV slider to ensure there is no overcompensation.

To uninstall the fix, simply remove or move the files.

All ultrawide and wider aspect ratios are expected to be supported. Tested extensively at 21:9 by Para on the latest Steam version.

Known issues:

  • The camera framing does not perfectly match 16:9, so the view may be somewhat off on each axis from scene to scene.
  • Some native background images do not have enough width for 21:9 and wider.

Tested on the latest Steam version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080, and 5120x1440.

Changelog:
1.0.1: Fixed the dungeon vignette not spanning, as reported by Para.
1.0: A total remake of the solution, addressing the issues of misplaced pixels and flickering lines. The image is crisp now even at 32:9. The UI is spanned.
0.1.0.1: Moved to a more precise approach to the UI. This makes the fix potentially more stable, but also potentially less reliable through game updates.
