use data in variable for profile pictures

I have been trying to get my own cache system I use to work with this. However I have been unable to as I can't see a way for profile pictures to use data from a variable's. It is seems to want a URL or file from my understanding.

I would like if there was a way to add an image via inputting data in some way or another eg base64 or byte data.

Not sure of any alternative solution's.
