A web application developed for the data collection team at the Centre fo Teaching and Learning (CTL) of the University of Free State. The app, named MARS: combines weekly attendance register files into a single bulk/aggregated attendance file. The user has the option of adding, removing, renaming data file columns and editing rows prior to downloading the combined files.

Software Requirements 🔌

You will need to install the following software on your system in order to run/edit the Python script.

  • Mac OS/ Ubuntu 18.04 OS
  • Python 3.10.12
  • Textedit/ IDE - spyder, jupyter-notebook
  • libraries
    • streamlit
    • pandas
    • time

Running the code

To run the MARS locally, one must have an anaconda/conda environment set up. Load the environment, navigate to the directory with the app then run the mars.py code:

$ streamlit run streamlit_app.py

The Web Application has successfully been deployed on the streamlit cloud, users can access it here: https://marsv100-da5bwqvb8pdtbck8yjqdme.streamlit.app/
