Welcome to the MechSuit VR Wiki!

This is the introductory or home page of the Wiki where all manner of information will be stored and archived away on the project, its progress, and planned features.

To begin, MechSuit VR is an open-air coliseum, 1v1 fighting game that puts you in control of your very own Mechsuit. The Mechsuit is equipped with a plethora of abilities and can be controlled through specific motion commands executed by the pilot. The Mechsuit's movement and weapon-summoning system are both operated through these motion commands.

Where did the idea for this project come from?

One of the most prominent would have to be the anime "Infinite Stratos" and the fluid movement that the mechanical suits in it possess.

Another slightly less prominent example would be an anime called "Accel World" which found to have some interesting animation styles as well.

Where do you see this project going in the long-term? What do you hope for its future?

MechSuit VR has the potential one of the most high-powered, fast-paced, VR games on the market and games overall, as VR continues its adoption. MechSuit VR is planned for a Steam release as well as well as a standalone release once it nears completion of Beta builds (currently in Alpha builds).

What headset are you using? What hardware/software do you plan on using (i.e. Unity)?

MechSuit VR is currently using the HTC Vive primarily for its very reliable room-scale tracking. The Oculus Rift as well as well as other VR headsets will be looked into as we progress. We are currently using Windows 10 computers equipped with Unity as our game engine and Blender as our 3D modeling software.
