Contributing to Umm

We welcome and appreciate any contributions to Umm! Whether you're looking to report a bug, propose a new feature, or make a change to the codebase, we're glad you're here. Before you start, We recommend you to read our GUIDE BOOK.

Opening a Bug Report

If you've found a bug in Umm, we'd love to hear about it. Before opening a bug report, please check if the issue has already been reported by searching the existing issues. If the issue has not been reported, please open a new issue and include the following information:

A clear and concise description of the problem Steps to reproduce the issue The expected behavior The actual behavior Any relevant error messages or logs

Proposing a New Feature

If you have an idea for a new feature or improvement in Umm, we'd love to hear about it. Before opening a feature request, please consider the following:

Is the feature aligned with the goals and vision of Umm? Is the feature feasible to implement? Will the feature be useful to a significant number of users? If you believe the feature meets these criteria, please open a new issue and include the following information:

A clear and concise description of the feature Use cases for the feature Are any relevant mockups or examples

Making Changes to the Codebase

If you'd like to make a change to the Umm codebase, we recommend opening an issue first to discuss the proposed change. This will help ensure that your work is not in vain and that the change is in line with the goals and vision of Umm.

Once you have opened an issue, you can create a pull request with your changes. Please make sure to follow the guidelines below when creating a pull request:

Make sure to include a description of your changes and the reason for them Test your changes thoroughly to ensure they do not break any existing functionality Follow the style guidelines for the project Squash any unnecessary commits We appreciate your contributions and will review your pull request as soon as possible.
