Relation research folder and vault folder when research folder is deleted

Situation:
Researcher works with data in the research area throughout the project. After the project finishes, the researcher submits a final and complete data package to the vault. As it concerns TB of data, the researcher decides to delete contents in the research area and delete the folder of the research area (as the data is secure in the vault) to save storage space.

Questions:

1. What if years later the researcher wants to update data files and submit the update to the vault under the same vault entry. Can the researcher create a research group with the same name as the vault folder, copy the vault data package to that recreated research folder, update whatever it needs to, and submit to the vault under the same vault entry?
2. If so, what happens if purely by chance another researcher creates a research group folder name with the same name as an existing vault folder but where the research group folder was not existing (as a user or someone else with the rights deleted that research folder in the past)? Would that unrelated data be submitted to the vault under that vault entry?
3. If the researcher removed the research group folder (or anyone else with the appropriate system rights), can that person still access their vault entry?

Perhaps the above is very simple and state that the research group folder can be empty but should not be removed, but that could clutter up the Yoda environment very quickly.

Nevermind. Just tested (which I could /should have done before). If there is a vault entry of a research group and the research group would be attempted to be removed, you'll get a nice warning message:

Not sure if that was always there, but very helpful and nice.
