As per discussions stemming from me, Max, iLuvalar, Kracker, and Iris.

It was decided we need to try to act on this situation as Light Cannon simply outclasses Rocket Pod in almost every way stat-wise. With no splash damage unlike Light Cannon (which helps with additional damage against cyborgs too), taking many seconds longer to manufacture, and having 12% of the HP compared to Light Cannon, these two weapons were not balanced in a good way against each other. So much so Light Cannon usually 1v1's MRP with ease.

Changes to MRP are as follows: 7% reduction in original power cost (75 -> 70).

If I read everything right. Edit: nope lol.

IMO 60 is too low, should be 65-70

75 -> 60 = -20%
Maybe split such a big change into multiple releases?
Players in the tournament continue to use rockets. This shows that the imbalance is not too great ...

I agree with Vaut. Indeed in the tournament the participants use MRP even though some maps due to uneven terrain do not allow to fully realize the advantage of MRP. The advantage of MRP over Light Cannon is to meet two conditions:

  1. Stick to the maximum distance at which the MRP can do damage and not in any way go close or let the enemy do it.

  2. Landshaft of the map should not interfere with the MRP at a long distance and also should not prevent the maneuver to retreat if the enemy will go to the approach.

On NTW maps these conditions always work and some players feel that the rockets branch is superior to the cannons branch. From this we conclude that the effectiveness of MRP depends on the terrain of the map as well as on the player's experience playing this class.

If you've been following the games in the current tournament, you'll understand that MRP loses to LC mainly because of a player's mistake resulting in a violation of one of the conditions I listed above, and not because of poor balance between these weapons.

I'll go with 70. I'll keep this on hold until the tournament is over with.
