Spending obscene amounts of money each month on Google Firebase is irrational and harmful to this project.

Hi Jason. Those costs are a conservative approximation we made before launch day, going off of the pricing calculator Firebase provides, and our invoices have come out much lower. Keep in mind this project is 2 months old, and we'd rather be safe than sorry in our estimates. As listed in #54 we are definitely working on making sure Firebase costs become negligible in the future. That being said, now that summer is over we don't risk reaching that Firebase estimate and we will lower it following your feedback. Suggestions are definitely welcome if you have an alternative in mind. Feel free to open a new issue! |
