Thanks for moderating this one @jamesgiroux. I'm curious about @marko-srb's thoughts from a design perspective here—since we already have the Harvard main site included in the Showcase. |
In my opinion it would be nice to save this one for later, not now. We have Harvard site as you noted and we don't want to have multiple sites from the same source while we are on the lower number of Showcase sites. Maybe in the future we can add it when more sites are in Showcase... Regarding design not ideal, but it is a passable website. |
Thanks @marko-srb. From a brand recognition perspective, I think having Harvard already in the Showcase is a stronger example for WordPress without needing to add The Harvard Gazette at this time. I'm going to keep this issue open for now, in case others feel strongly otherwise and as we add more entries we can reconsider. |
Venturing back here to specify that we'll be including this in the Showcase. @jamesgiroux If you wanted to take a stab at the copy for the entry or the images, go for it. Otherwise, we'll see if someone on Contributor Day at WCUS will take it on. (Or I can, of course. 😄) |
I’ll be there for contributor day so I am happy to help out with this.

Reason for Submission
"The Harvard Gazette site underwent a complete redesign focused on improving user experience, user interface, and accessibility. This site should be considered for the WordPress Showcase due to its exemplary integration of advanced design principles and cutting-edge modern WordPress technology into the high ed publishing workflows. The redesign not only significantly improves user experience and user interface of higher education publishing, but also showcases a WordPress build focused on accessibility, adhering strictly to WCAG 2.1 standards. Its use of Gutenberg blocks and block patterns to streamline the publishing workflow demonstrates innovative use of WordPress tools.
Additionally, the key features of the WordPress Showcase includes five extended core blocks, three block patterns with media gallery layouts, six archive template layouts, 33 custom blocks, and six block styles for article headers, ensuring a seamless and inclusive user experience.the site offers a seamless, inclusive, and visually appealing experience, setting a high standard for what can be built with WordPress."
