What is Creative Coding?

Creative coding is an artistic practice with code as its medium. In the same way that painting is an artistic pursuit with paint as its material, creative coding is an artistic pursuit with code as its material. Coding isn't often associated with artist pursuits, so the word creative is appended to decenter creative coding from computer science, engineering, and STEM.
