This is a basic ruby on rails app.
It takes tweets from the twitter streaming API and counts mentions of countries in European continent.
In order to use it you must add a file .env to the root and add your twitter API tokens.
Here is an example .env file (add your own access tokens!):
TWITTER_CONSUMER_KEY=‘<YOUR-KEY>’
TWITTER_CONSUMER_SECRET=‘<YOUR-SECRET>’
TWITTER_OAUTH_TOKEN=‘<YOUR-OAUTH-TOKEN>’
TWITTER_OAUTH_TOKEN_SECRET=‘YOUR-SECRET-TOKEN’
NB Currently this app only works in the console by typing the following commands but I am working on completely the UI currently
#to enter rails console type: $ rails c
#To start TwitterApi function: $ TwitterApi
#To connect to streaming API: $ TwitterApi.client
#To stream and count tweets: $ TwitterApi.stream_tweets
Now you will see tweets being counted in the terminal.
Enjoy!
