Video Support

I think video support would be nice too, for example animator sometimes use images and video as reference. In-app video player might be difficult to implement, so may be just ability to view video thumbnail, then open it to default video app when clicked.

That Will be enough. I dont exactly use IT for its written purpose. More like offline image oboru.

Theres also the matter of messy folders; While some of my folders are very clear on whats inside i have very messy folders with different files and videos. Even if not supported i wish i could at least see what an added folder contains

As someone who also does animation, it feels essential to have video support. It's especially becoming a problem with sites like Reddit and Twitter converting every animated image into a video. I could convert everything to WebP, but duplicating every video file seems like it'd create a lot of unnecessary clutter. Just having them show up and autoplay muted like GIFs would be great, with the ability to open in an external program like qs2435 said above.

AIUI GIFs dragged out of Allusion just turn into a single frame -- I'm not familiar with the implementation, but I know it's possible to use <canvas> context.drawImage and a subsequent context.getImageData to achieve the same for video in Chromium (I've done this in the past).

Video support is my biggest desire right now! The app is exactly what I need, but I'm an animator and there are hundreds of videos in the reference folders Allusion is watching that I would love to see show up.

Long term I'd love short repeating loops in the thumbnails, like how GIFs play.
Short term thumbnails of the poster frame would be great! Also maybe the ability to change the poster frame? I suppose being able to recognise the video at-a-glance is important.

There is PR #583 for this. If you build it, it works fine from what I can tell. It does increase the overall memory consumption. The branch has conflicts with the main so whenever that gets resolved, we'll get the support.
